Teen Trail Corps
“As mountain bikers, the trails are our playground.” -NICA
We cannot race, ride and roll if we do not have trails to tread - and trails do not maintain themselves. Through the Teen Trail Corps (TTC), students learn to care for, maintain and improve their local trail. They learn that with the privilege to play hard comes the responsibility to work hard. As they become stewards of the trails, they become advocates for access and sustainability of this playground in the woods.
The growth, connection and inspiration that flows from this program has far reaching effects in the community.
Locally, MCR partners with Florence Outside and the City of Florence to maintain High Hill Creek Bike Run Park.
NICA promotes and rewards trail work and advocacy hours through points for every hour worked and an opportunity to earn badges along the way as they develop a voice, serve the community, respect other trail users and ride responsibly.
