Jersey - $100

What type of racing do we do?

XC or Cross Country Racing (like the Olympics)

What type of bike should I ride?

Buying the right bike can be confusing for families. While any bike made for mountain biking can work in the beginning there is a good, better, & best choice. Walmart or Dicks Sporting Goods are not the place to buy a bike for safe cross country racing. Here are a few ideas of where to look for a bike at a reasonable price.

• The current price point for an entry level bike is between $500-$800.

• Brands to consider are Specialized, Trek, & Giant. Look for what’s available at your local bike shop. This is the fun part of the sport - learning all about bikes!

• Pro Tip - look for a bike that comes with a 1x12 gearset (your youth will thank you later).

E-Bikes are not allowed at practices or races.

Where are practices held?

Practices are primarily held in Florence, South Carolina at High Hill Bike and Run Park (near Otis Elevator) & at the Florence Soccer Center (on West Palmetto).
Some away rides will be scheduled but are not mandatory.

What are Race Weekends Like?

Race weekend is a festival-like event that happens over two days (Saturday to Sunday).
While not mandatory to attend, Saturday is our primary day to pre-ride the course and become familiar with the challenges faced on race day. There will be a food truck, music, and a free bike technician available all day.
Sunday is race day and each age group has their own start times so be prepared to show up at least 45 minutes prior to their race.
A race weekend flyer will be available with more info.

Race locations are typically the same each year but not in the same order.
